December 19 - January 3 - school closed for holidays

Good afternoon Laker families!

With the provincial announcement of extended online learning for elementary students until January 25, we wanted to share some important information with you.

Our model of Learning from Home will continue to evolve. Beginning next week, students will follow their class timetable being instructed by both their homeroom teacher and rotary teachers. The class timetable will be provided to parents by the homeroom teacher by the end of the day. By following a daily class timetable, students will have their scheduled breaks for snacks, lunch and fitness embedded. Classroom teachers will be available during their scheduled teaching time during our school day from 9:00 a.m. to 3:20 p.m. Students should be accessing online learning daily.

Synchronous learning will increase to approximately 180 minutes a day for Kindergarten students and 225 minutes a day for students in Grades 1-8. Synchronous learning may be in the form of whole class instruction, small groups, question and answer time, etc.

Thank you for your patience as we work together to enhance our Learning from Home model.

Please note: Parents do not need to use Safe Arrival to report attendance as it will be done centrally by the DSBN for the next two weeks. Friday, January 15 is a scheduled Professional Activity Day and students are not required to be online.

Accessible Parking @ Lakeview

Did you know that 1 in 7 people in Ontario have some form of disability?

No matter what type of disability, these individuals are eligible to accessible parking spaces. Often they come across situations when an accessible parking space is occupied by someone without an Accessible Parking Permit, or when the access aisle, the striped area beside the parking space, is blocked by an adjacent car.

How you can help

Show that you #RespectTheSpace by being mindful of accessible parking spaces and ...

Do not park in an accessible parking space without a valid permit.
